The Junk Removal Crew App: The Day's Jobs, the Load and the Dump on One Phone

All the planning in the office only matters if it reaches the truck. The crew app is where it does. Every job the office booked, every note the person on the phone wrote down, every route change made at 10am shows up on the crew's phone.

From the Board to the Phone

How the office orders each truck's day is covered in Auto-Routing Junk Jobs Closest First or Furthest First From the Yard. The crew app shows that same order, for the truck the crew member is assigned to.

There's no app store download. The crew app runs in the browser on iPhone and Android and can be installed to the home screen so it opens like any other app. That means the crew can use the phones they already carry.

Logging In

Each crew member signs in with your company login and their own personal PIN. The PIN ties every action to a person: who started the job, who took the photos, who clocked in. When someone leaves the company, turning off their PIN turns off their access. Nobody shares a single login written on a sticky note in the truck.

What's on Each Job Card

The day's jobs are listed in route order. Each card shows:

Before the truck leaves the yard, the crew can scroll the whole day and see where the big loads are and where the dump runs fall.

Start, Skip, Complete

Three buttons run the day:

Before and after photos are taken in the app and saved with the job. That's covered in Before-and-After Photos and Completing a Junk Job From the Driveway.

Automatic Customer Texts

The crew doesn't have to text anyone. As they work the route, customers get automatic “on the way” and “arrived” texts, based on the alerts each customer chose. When a customer replies, the reply goes to the office, not the crew member's personal phone. The crew keeps lifting.

Time Clock and GPS

The time clock is on the same phone. Crew members clock in and out in the app, so hours are recorded as they happen instead of reconstructed on Friday. While they're working, crew GPS shows each truck's location on the office map. When a same-day call comes in, the office can see which truck is closest. When a customer calls asking where the crew is, the office can answer without calling the truck.

Built for Gloves and Tailgates

Junk crews work with dirty gloves, in garages with bad light, with a dolly in one hand. The crew app is built around a few taps per job. Navigation is one tap. Go to the dump is one tap. Start and Complete are one tap each. The details are already on the card, so there's nothing to type except the occasional note.

A new crew member can be trained in a morning: show them the login, how to read a card, and the three buttons. Everything else they pick up on the first route.

For the owner who still runs a truck, the same app is how the owner sees the day while driving. The office side and the crew side are looking at the same jobs, so the owner can check the board at lunch, glance at the Waiting List, and get back in the truck.

The Office in the Truck

The crew app takes the office's planning and puts it in the crew's hand, then sends the results back: jobs done, photos taken, invoices created, skips explained. To see how it fits with dispatch, the customer app and billing, go back to the JunkBossPro junk removal software page.
