Answering Junk Removal Leads Fast by Text

A homeowner who wants a garage cleared out rarely asks just one company. They search, open a few websites, fill out two or three forms, and go with whoever makes it easy first. You don't need to be the cheapest to win that job. You need to be the first clear answer.

Speed Comes After the Lead Is in Hand

Getting the request into JunkBossPro without retyping is covered in One Click From Form Response to Client: Converting Junk Removal Leads. Once it's there, the next thing that decides whether you book the job is how quickly the customer hears back.

Fast doesn't mean instant. It means before the customer has given up waiting or booked someone else. For a request that came in at 9am, that probably means the same morning. For one that came in at 10pm, first thing the next day.

Why Text Beats a Callback

Calling back a web lead has two problems. The customer chose a form because they didn't want to talk right then. And if they don't pick up, you're into voicemail tag. A text solves both:

Some customers will still want a call, especially for big estate cleanouts. Offer it in the text: “Happy to call if that's easier.”

Two-Way Texting From the Office

JunkBossPro includes two-way texting with customers from the office. You send a text to the customer's phone and their replies come back into the same conversation in JunkBossPro, not to one person's personal cell.

That matters for a small company in a few ways:

Every plan includes a monthly text allowance: 500 texts sent and received on Start, 1,000 on Pro and 2,000 on Crew, in the US and Canada. Lead replies, reminders and alerts all count toward it.

Covering Leads When You're on the Truck

The hardest time to answer leads is when you are busiest: halfway through a basement cleanout with your hands full. A few ways small junk removal companies handle it:

Running booking from the cab of a one-truck operation has its own guide in The One-Truck Owner's Booking Day: Answering Leads Between Loads.

What a Fast First Text Needs

A fast reply that says nothing useful is barely better than no reply. A good first text has three parts:

  1. Proof you read the request. Mention what's going: “the couch and treadmill in the garage.”
  2. A price range or a next step. From your own service list, or an offer of a quick on-site look for big jobs.
  3. A specific day. “We have Thursday morning open” is easier to say yes to than “when works for you?”

Example wording for different kinds of requests is in the next guide.

After the Reply

If the customer says yes, send the estimate or book the job. If they go quiet, a follow-up the next day is reasonable, and estimate follow-up emails can carry it from there. Once the job is booked, the automated reminders and alerts take over the texting: night before, when they're next, and when the crew arrives.

Be the First Clear Answer

Most junk removal jobs are won or lost in the first few hours after the request. Two-way texting from one shared office inbox is the simplest way to answer faster without being glued to your phone.
